Privacy policy: What we keep, and why.
Alaya is a small company. Your details are read by the people who plan your trip, and nobody else we can avoid. Here is exactly how that works.

Alaya Tours (“Alaya”, “we”) is a travel company based in the Philippines. We handle personal information under the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173). This policy covers alayatours.com and the forms on it.
What we collect
Only what you type into our forms, plus basic analytics:
- Trip bookings: your name, email, mobile number, country of residence, chosen departure, room preference, dietary needs or allergies, and anything you add in the message box.
- Early-list and newsletter sign-ups: your first name and email, and for a trip’s early list, how many might join and any note you leave.
- Reserve, Concierge and contact enquiries: your name, email, optional mobile number, and the trip details you share (dates, destination, group size, budget, the reason for the trip).
- Analytics: Google Analytics records how the site is used (pages visited, device type, approximate location, and whether a form was sent). It does not receive what you write in our forms.
We never ask for card details, passport numbers or government IDs on this website.
How we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and, if you book, to plan and run your trip.
- To send trip announcements and Alaya news, only if you joined the early list or newsletter.
- To understand which pages help people and which don’t, so we can improve the site.
We don’t sell your information, and we don’t use it for advertising.
Who sees it
Your submissions go to the Alaya founders and our admin team, and no one else inside the company. Outside Alaya:
- Trip partners, only once you book: hotels, transport operators, local guides and airlines receive the details they need to host you (usually your name, and dietary or room needs). Nothing is passed on at the enquiry stage.
- The services that run this website: Hostinger hosts the site and our email, and Google Analytics measures site traffic. They process data for us and do not use your form details for their own purposes.
- A mailing service, later: our early list is currently a simple list we keep ourselves. When we move it to a mailing service such as MailerLite, subscribers’ names and emails will be stored there, and we’ll update this page.
Some of these services store data outside the Philippines. We only use providers that protect it to a comparable standard.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries and form submissions: deleted 180 days after our last conversation with you.
- If you travel with us: kept for the trip, then deleted 180 days after you return, except records the law requires us to keep longer, such as receipts for tax.
- Early list and newsletter: kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove you.
Cookies and your browser
Google Analytics sets cookies to tell visits apart. The site also remembers your chosen currency (PHP, USD or EUR) and any form you’ve half-filled in your own browser’s storage. That information stays on your device and never reaches us. You can block or clear cookies and site data in your browser settings at any time. The site works without them.
Your rights
Under the Data Privacy Act you can ask what we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, get a copy, or object to how we use it. You can unsubscribe from our emails at any time by replying “unsubscribe” or writing to us. Email contact@alayatours.com and one of the founders will reply within two working days.

If you’re not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the National Privacy Commission.
Keeping it safe
Forms are sent over an encrypted connection. Copies of submissions are stored outside the public part of our web server, and only the founders and admin team have access.
Changes
If we change how we handle your information, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. For anything important, like moving to a new mailing service, we’ll also tell our subscribers.
